Indicative prices. Coal prices in Balochistan change week to week, so we confirm today's price when you contact us. Cost of heat is price ÷ heat value: the lower it is, the more energy each rupee buys. excl. GST (18% or Rs 700/t, whichever is higher).

Indicative prices

Rs per tonne, excl. GST

Heat is energy per kg: higher burns hotter. Ash is what is left after burning; sulphur drives fumes and corrosion. Lower is cleaner for both.

QuestionsCoal in Pakistan

Common questions about buying coal.

What is the price of coal in Quetta per tonne?

Indicative prices ex-Quetta, excluding sales tax: Duki lump about Rs 38,000, Duki run-of-mine about Rs 34,000, Chamalang lump about Rs 39,500, Sor Range about Rs 38,500, Mach / Harnai about Rs 32,500 and fines about Rs 25,000 per tonne. These are not exact: coal prices change week to week, so we confirm today's price when you contact us.

What does delivery to Punjab cost?

Road freight from Quetta to Punjab adds roughly Rs 8,000 to 10,000 a tonne; delivered, Duki lump is about Rs 47,000 per tonne. The exact figure depends on your city and the truck size, and we confirm it with the price.

Which coal is best for brick kilns?

Duki coal is the coal most Punjab kilns burn: high heat at a fair price. Chamalang burns cleaner for a little more; fines are the cheapest for firing.

Which coal is best for boilers?

Sor Range coal, from near Quetta, has the lowest ash and sulphur of the Balochistan coals. All local coal is higher in sulphur than imported coal, so check your boiler's limit; we send the analysis.

How much sulphur does Balochistan coal have?

Usually 3 to 6%, and more in Mach and Harnai coal. Sor Range is lower, around 2 to 4%. That is higher than imported coal, and it is why we state sulphur on every grade.

What is the minimum order?

One truck: about 25 to 30 tonnes on a 10-wheeler or 40 to 50 tonnes on a 22-wheeler.

Is sales tax included?

No. Prices exclude sales tax on local coal, which is 18% or Rs 700 a tonne, whichever is higher, and is added on the invoice.

Do you sell Afghan or imported coal?

No. We sell Balochistan coal from Duki, Chamalang, Sor Range, Mach and Harnai. Afghan coal has not crossed the border since October 2025.
